Purpose
Safety (for the real lab)
- Wear splash goggles the whole time. The bench won’t let you pour anything until your goggles are on.
- Sodium hydroxide damages eyes faster than acids do. If anything splashes, rinse at the eyewash for 15 minutes.
- Never pipet by mouth. Use a pipet bulb. Fill the burette below eye level, with a funnel, and take the funnel out before you read it.
- Never mix bleach with ammonia or with acids: they make toxic gases (chloramine, chlorine).
- Neutralize and pour solutions down the drain only as your teacher directs. Wash your hands when you finish.
This simulation runs on your device. Your progress saves automatically in this browser, and you can save it to a file to continue somewhere else.

How to use the bench (mouse, touch, or keyboard)
- Tap a well, then a solution, then an indicator. Or drag a bottle onto a well. Tap a selected well again (or press Enter) for a menu. Tab moves between items; Esc closes a menu or puts down what you are holding.
- Keys: 1 2 3 change station · P pause · M particle view · H help · N what do I do now? · G goggles · R rinse the electrode · D one drop · E record the endpoint.
- Stopcock (focus the burette’s tap): arrow keys open or close it one step; Page Up = fast stream, Page Down = closed.
- pH probe: tap a well to dip the electrode in; wait for “stable”; rinse between wells.
- Titration: fill the burette, pipet the sample into the flask, add an indicator, then open the stopcock. Go drop by drop near the endpoint.
