Export grades to Schoology
Your students' Lab Games scores can go straight into your Schoology gradebook. No retyping. You download one file here and upload it there.
About 2 minutes per class
Before you start: student ID numbers
Schoology matches each row of the file to a student using their ID number. Students already sign in to The Lab Games with their school ID number, so most rosters are ready.
- Open Classes and rosters, pick the class, and check that every student has a number.
- To add many at once, paste lines like
Maria Lopez, 204518into the roster box. - Students with no number are left out of the file, and the export window tells you who they are.
Part 1: download the file from The Lab Games
Open your gradebook
Sign in, open the Teacher dashboard, go to Gradebook, and pick the class.
Show only what you want to export
Set the dates and the activities you want. The file includes exactly the activity columns on your screen, up to 50 at a time.
Click Export CSV…
- Format: choose Schoology import.
- Score as: Percent (0–100) is the easiest. Use Points earned only if your Schoology assignment uses the same point total.
- Include: All work, or Only completed work to leave unfinished attempts blank.
Check the preview, then click Download
Read any yellow warnings first, such as missing or duplicate ID numbers. The file you download is exactly what the preview shows.
The file looks like this. Blank cells mean the student hasn't turned the work in, and they are never counted as a zero.

Part 2: import the file into Schoology
Open your Schoology gradebook
Go to the course, open Gradebook, open the ⋮ menu, and choose Import.
Upload the file
Choose the file you downloaded. When Schoology asks how to match students, match Unique User ID to Unique User ID. Leave Student Name unmatched.
Match each activity column
- Existing Assignment: pick the Schoology assignment you already made for that lab.
- New Assignment: Schoology creates one for you. If you exported percents, set it out of 100, and choose the category and grading period.
Review and import
Schoology shows a summary before saving. Check a couple of students against The Lab Games gradebook, then confirm.
