For schools and districts

The Lab Games (thelabgames.org) is a free collection of science simulations, virtual labs and review games for grades 9–12, made by a high school science teacher.

Every sim works without an account

Students can open and use every simulation, lab and game without signing in, creating an account, or giving any personal information.

An account is optional. It adds:

  • Saved progress: lab and sim scores are kept in one place, and students can see their own history.
  • Classes: a student joins a teacher's class with a class code, and that teacher sees the student's turned-in work.
  • Leaderboards: review-game scores appear on public leaderboards under a username the student chooses (never their real name), with an optional country flag and a cartoon avatar picked from preset art.

Accounts are only for people 13 or older. Anyone can still use the site without one.

Why a student might see “blocked”

Signing in with Google uses a small Google sign-in app. Many districts block Google sign-in to outside apps for student accounts until an administrator approves them. If a student sees a message that their account is blocked, their district IT team can approve the app in a few minutes. The IT admin guide has the steps, and this page has a ready-to-send email for teachers.

While it is blocked, students can still sign in with their teacher's class code and their student ID (if their teacher added them to a class), or simply use the site signed out.
