How to use the bench (mouse, touch, or keyboard)
- Zoom: drag the zoom slider, scroll over the picture, pinch on a touch screen, or press Z / X to look through the spectroscope's eyepiece and back out.
- Time: Play lets the atoms give out photons. Speed goes from ×0.1 (slow motion) to ×5.
- Step mode: one photon at a time: press → (or Next photon) for the next one.
- The ladder: tap a level (or press ↑ / ↓) to move the electron yourself. Going down gives out a photon.
- Measure: tap or drag on the spectroscope view to place the cursor; fine-tune with the ◀ ▶ buttons or [ / ] (0.1 nm) and { / } (1 nm).
- Look closer: point at (or tap) any line, level, tube or star to see what it is.
- Keys: Space play / pause · → next photon · ↑ ↓ ladder · R reset · Z / X zoom · H help.
