How to use the bench (mouse, touch, or keyboard)
- Zoom: drag the zoom slider, scroll over the picture, pinch on a touch screen, or press Z / X. It goes from the dish to one cell to its chromosomes.
- Choose a cell: tap (or click) a cell to zoom in on it. In Lab 1, tapping a cell tracks it.
- Time: Play runs the time-lapse. ×1 = one hour of the cells’ life per second; ×0.1 to watch mitosis slowly.
- Next event (→) jumps to the next thing that happens to the zoomed or tracked cell: a new phase, a checkpoint, a division.
- Keys: Space play / pause · → next event · R reset · Z / X zoom · H help.
