How to use the bench (mouse, touch, or keyboard)
- Zoom: drag the zoom slider, scroll over the picture, pinch on a touch screen, or press Z / X. The zoom goes from the bench (parents, gametes and offspring) into one cell going through meiosis, then to one pair of chromosomes.
- Meiosis: Play runs it; Next stage (or →) moves one stage at a time. Speed goes from ×0.1 (slow motion) to ×5. You can also tap a stage name under the picture.
- Look closer: point at (or tap) a chromosome, a gamete or an offspring to see its alleles.
- Keys: Space play / pause · → next stage · R reset · Z / X zoom · H help.
