How to use the bench (mouse, touch, or keyboard)
- Zoom: drag the zoom slider, scroll over the picture, pinch on a touch screen, or press Z / X. The zoom goes from the lab bench to a close-up, to the membrane itself, to a single protein.
- Time: Play runs the bench and the molecules. Speed goes from ×0.1 (slow motion) to ×5.
- Step mode: molecules stop at the membrane and wait. Press → (or the Next molecule button) to let the next one cross, one at a time.
- Look closer: point at (or tap) any molecule or protein to see what it is.
- Keys: Space play / pause · → next molecule · R reset · Z / X zoom · H help.
