Purpose
Safety (for the real lab)
- Keep marbles off the floor: a marble underfoot is a slipping hazard. Use a catch cup and count your marbles back in.
- Clamp ramps and stands so they can’t tip. Don’t stand on chairs to reach a high release point.
- Photogates run on low-voltage power; keep cords out of walkways and away from water.
- Never aim a laser photogate beam at anyone’s eyes.
This simulation runs on your device. Your progress saves automatically in this browser, and you can save it to a file to continue somewhere else.

How to build (mouse, touch, or keyboard)
- Add a piece: drag it from the palette onto the track (a green + shows where it will go), or click it to add it after the selected piece. Drag a piece that is already on the track to move it.
- Change a piece: click it, then use the sliders in the side panel. ← → move it earlier or later; ↑ ↓ change its size or angle; Delete removes it; Ctrl+Z undoes.
- Gates: drag + Gate onto the track (up to 4), drag a gate to move it, or select it and use the arrow keys (±0.5 cm; Shift ±10 cm).
- Release height: drag the red pin at the start up or down, or use the slider when nothing is selected.
- Run: Space drop / pause, R reset, H help, N what to do next. The clock always shows real sim time, whatever the playback speed.
